Industrial floors are required to meet a more demanding levelness or flatness specification referred to as super flat floors. At warehouses and other industries, in order to support forklifts to raise their forks to retrieve or place products at various levels and to perform as intended, floors must be extraordinarily flat or super flat. Furthermore, to use any kind of floor hardening agent the warehouse should have a leveled floor already. If not, then one will have to bear additional expenditure to level the floor. For example, in the case of PU coating on a super flat floor, a thickness of 2 mm is fairly enough. Otherwise one may have to install 4 to 5 mm or even more thick PU coating depending on the flatness of the floor. So it is wise to consider super flat floor at an initial stage of industrial flooring. Being the first and only provider of super flat floor services in Bangladesh, we use our 20 years of experience over Malaysia, to provide 100% customer satisfaction.
Super flat Floor:
Floors which support vehicular traffic along paths that are defined and do not change
during the life of the floor surface (is defined traffic) are normally referred to as
SUPERFLAT. Defined traffic normally applies to very narrow aisles (VNA) warehouses
in which VNA forklift trucks travel the same path, in the same direction every day
This type of most advanced material handling system requires the installation of a very flat
floor with controlled accuracy and for much tighter tolerance than conventionalslabs.
Dollars for conformance are necessary in the wheel tracks only, and they are measured by
special floor profiling instrument and defined by f-number system asfollows.
Ff (floor flatness) - is a measure of the waviness of the Slav.
Fl (Floor levelness) - is a measure of the tilt of the slab.
Installation requires highly specialized equipment, tools and techniques that allow
precision concrete casting.
One short and long-term savings on drug and floor maintenance cost and material
handling if you CMC more than justify the cost of installing a super flat floor
Advantage of Super flat floor for VNA warehouse
Hi material handling efficiency.
Safer working condition for VNA tracks.
Lower maintenance cost on VNA trucks.
More durable floor, longer working life-span
Applications:
VNA warehouse
ASRS store –house
Logistics distribution Center
Movie or television studio
Exhibition Center
Ice or roller skating ring
Standards:
Floor installation to be in accordance with the guide lines as described in ACI 302.IR for concrete floor and slab construction.
Floor finishing tolerances for various uses shall confirm to the flatness and levelness requirements set forth in ACI 117.
Finished floor surface profile to be measured in accordance with ASTME1155 “Standard test method for determining floor flatness & levelness” using face floor profile numbers (F-number system).
F-number system:
It is recommended that both flatness and levelness requirements be described by Face floor profile number. Two separate F-numbers are required to define the required flatness and levelness of the constructed floor surface.
The flatness F-number (Ff) controls local surface bumpiness by limiting the magnitude of successive 1-feet (300-mm) slope change when measured along sample measurement lines.
The levelness F-number (Ff) controls local conformance to design grade by limiting differences in departures from design grade over distance of 10ft (3m) when measured along sample measurement lines.
